At Countrywise Training Ltd we like to make our training and as interactive, fun and realistic as possible. Without scaring everybody off of course. In today’s Blog I thought id show you how we make one of our fake wounds for a catastrophic bleed.
At First we start with a piece of round foam which and decide what sort of injury were going to make embedded object, Cat Bleed, Nasty burn, oh so many choices.
Actually I might be in trouble if do this on the kitchen worktop best go outside before o start ripping this apart and painting.
remember not all wounds are neat and tidy and now I’ve got my basic shape and idea we can prime the area. A quick spray with a primer melts the edges and prepares the edges for painting.
A bit of paint and its starting to get there a mix of red and black for some different shades messy is good.
But it still looks so fake best add a little more paint and a tube for the fake blood
Getting there but still missing something. Ah that’s it trousers
Warning the next image may be upsetting or considered as graphic which is why we always check with our delegates and ask if they would like to use the fake wounds and fake blood when training remember it’s fake and still only a foam block
That looks better now, what a difference a pair of old trousers makes .Time to test the fake blood and get it ready for a quick water test before its first outing
At Countrywise Training Ltd I like to offer a range of training and offer simulations suitable for the needs and requirements of the delegates on the course. As such we use a range of fake wounds of various styles and degrees of realism including getting delegates acting as casualties allowing them to see what its like from both sides First Aider and Causality simulated fake wounds and make up.
